Bashir YugudaYuguda Takes over as Supervising Minister at NPC

The Minister of State for Works, Mr. Bashir Yuguda, Monday formally took over from the erstwhile Minister of National Planning Commission (NPC), Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman, as the supervising minister for the commission.

Undergraduates, Others arrested for stealing N2bn from bank

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested two young men who claimed to be undergraduates of the University of Jos, Isaiah Friday and Azzaior Samuel, for an alleged N2.05bn fraud. Two bureau de change operators, Salihu Mahmoud and Dan Ibrahim, were also arrested in connection with the alleged crime.

Shell Reopens Trans Niger Pipeline

Anglo-Dutch supermajor, Shell, has reopened its 150,000 barrel per day Trans Niger pipeline (TNP) in Nigeria, which had been shut for nearly two months. According to Reuters, Shell spokesperson was quoted as saying the pipeline was reopened on September 8, adding that the force majeure declared in April on Nigeria's benchmark Bonny Light crude oil grade remained in place.
